Lahore, Pakistan — [June 9, 2024]: Ahya is proud to announce its strategic partnership with Sapphire Textiles (Pakistan’s leading textile exporters) to accelerate to net zero. The collaboration will enable Sapphire Textiles to access Ahya’s AI-powered climate software products.  

Sapphire Textiles’ environmental initiatives are aligned with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 15 (Life on Land). Through their adherence to the UN Global Compact Principles, Sapphire demonstrates a commitment to environmental stewardship.

Saphire’s efforts in decarbonization include a commitment to Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) as well as adopting green technology and energy-efficient machinery. Sapphire's view on climate action as an innovation opportunity, and a core pillar of their business model, is evident through their significant investments in renewable energy projects. Sapphire Textiles has installed 16 MWs of solar PV at their manufacturing sites and targets to expand this to around 25 MW. These projects contribute to reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, enhancing energy efficiency, and reducing emissions intensity.

Through this partnership, Ahya shall provide Sapphire Textile Mills access to their consolidated suite of AI-powered climate software products to simplify comprehensive management and reduction of emissions, with accuracy, transparency and environmental robustness.

The partnership underscores both companies' strong alignment on mission, commitment to reduce the nation’s GHG footprint, as well as a goal to attract FDI and foreign exchange via sustainable exports.
